Duties: • Development of emulsion scanning software using C# and C++(Windows) • Debugging and adapting a third party C/C++ multi-threaded COM+ application controlling the scanning station hardware • Development of data analysis software using C++ (Linux) • Participation in design and deployment of experiment’s database (one of the largest Oracle databases ever) • Installation, maintenance, backup and performance optimization of the local branch of the experiment’s database • Development of PL/SQL stored procedures and triggers for ensuring data integrity • Software training of diploma students and supervising their work • Teaching (English and German) Accomplished projects: • As the leader of the changeable sheets (CS) scanning task force supervised and participated in the development of the CS scanning software based on C# .NET technologies • Developed a client/server application for remotely controlling scanning microscopes over TCP/IP using C++ (Windows) • Developed Oracle interface for the collaborations Linux-based data analysis framework • Developed a GUI utility to display and configure XML scanning settings (C# .NET) • Created a MySQL database to manage group’s personnel and publications • Developed a set of web robots to keep the MySQL up-to-date by downloading updates from the SPIRES website via HTTP (Perl) • Provided a web interface to the database based on HTML + PHP • Recruited and trained new staff

Duties: • Supervising data-taking crew as a shift leader • Adjustment of standard detector software for the needs of a specific experiment • Performing Monte-Carlo simulations • Performing routine computer administration tasks • Data quality checks and data analysis using various software (PAW, ROOT, Mathematica) • Detector calibrations Accomplished projects: • Developed original software for Hall C spectrometer simulation (in FORTRAN) • Automated detector calibration procedure using Unix shell scripts • Created, administrated and maintained a MySQL database for so-called slow controls redouts • Created several utilities for data exchange and data processing with the MySQL using Perl
